Kasenyi Landing Site Medical Camp Delivers Care to 500 Residents

In a joint effort to address healthcare disparities, the Rotaract Club of Bwebajja organized the Health Harbor medical camp, offering free consultations, diagnostic screenings, and treatments to approximately 500 underserved community members.

Volunteer physicians conducted general health exams, while nurses performed blood-pressure checks, malaria tests, and basic lab work. Pharmacists dispensed essential medications, and specialist teams provided eye screenings and dental check-ups.

Concurrent health-education workshops on sanitation, nutrition, and disease prevention empowered families with actionable knowledge to safeguard their well-being. Collaboration with local Village Health Teams ensured effective mobilization and culturally relevant translation of materials.

Post-camp surveys revealed that 90% of attendees felt better equipped to manage their health, and 75% committed to regular check-ups. Referral pathways to nearby clinics were established for complex cases, and follow-up visits are scheduled quarterly to monitor progress.

Health Harbor’s success highlights the Rotaract Club’s dedication to sustainable, community-centered healthcare outreach and lays the groundwork for expanding similar camps to neighboring regions.
