
The Rotaract Club of Bwebajja hosted an official visit by DRR Alebar Kanyonza on Tuesday, 12th August 2025, at Bwebajja Gardens, bringing together club members, board members, invited guests, and community leaders. The event celebrated the club’s achievements, shared progress updates, and reinforced its commitment to leadership and community service.
The evening began with the arrival of club members, followed by a board meeting with DRR Kanyonza, giving leadership an opportunity to review strategic priorities and ongoing initiatives. Invited guests were welcomed and registered by Rtr. Lyton Nabaggala, setting the stage for the formal proceedings.
President Rose Mary Nnamuleme officially called the meeting to order, emphasizing the club’s core values. “Our mission is to serve our community while nurturing leadership and professional growth among our members,” she said. Past President Hope Tushemerirwe delivered welcome remarks and recognition of protocol, adding, “It is inspiring to see how far this club has come, and the dedication of our members is truly commendable.”
President Rose Mary then presented the Club Status Report, highlighting achievements, ongoing projects, and community impact. DRR Alebar Kanyonza addressed the members, encouraging them to embrace leadership and service. “True leadership is measured by the positive impact you create in your community. Keep striving to uplift those around you,” he stated.
The program included the introduction and induction of new members and the induction of corporate members by Rtr. Belinda Akampurira. The event also recognized contributions to the Rotary Foundation, emphasizing the importance of giving back to support meaningful projects.
A highlight of the evening was the launch of the “Uplift” Project, presented by IPDRR Joseph Batter Ssengooba. “This project aims to empower young people through skill-building and community initiatives, ensuring that our impact is long-lasting,” he explained.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by IPP Kizza Godfrey Lubuuka, followed by group photos and a cake-cutting ceremony, capturing the camaraderie and spirit of service among members. The Sergeant-at-Arms closed the event, expressing appreciation to all participants.
The visit was a testament to the Rotaract Club of Bwebajja’s commitment to fostering leadership, community service, and meaningful partnerships that inspire the next generation of leaders.
