RAC Bwebajja Announced Club of the Year for the Fourth Time

In recognition of outstanding service, innovation, and leadership, the Rotaract Club of Bwebajja was officially named Club of the Year for the fourth time at the 2025 District Conference. The accolade, announced May 2025 in Tanzania, cements the club’s reputation as a beacon of excellence in District 9214.

Competing against more than 109 clubs, Bwebajja secured top honors through a compelling portfolio of projects, impactful partnerships, and robust membership engagement. District Governor, Dr. Amelia Kamya, praised the club’s “consistent track record of creativity, community collaboration, and measurable results,” noting that their initiatives set a benchmark for service quality across the district.

Key to this year’s victory was the club’s comprehensive approach to youth development. Highlights included the SkillSpark 2025 Youth Skills Fest, which equipped over 700 young innovators with practical technical and entrepreneurial skills, and the Health Harbor Medical Camp, which delivered free healthcare to 500 underserved residents. Additionally, the Story Seeds D.E.A.R. Day literacy drive and PeacePulse conflict-prevention workshops showcased the club’s versatility and commitment across Rotary’s seven focus areas.

“Winning Club of the Year once is an honor; four times is a testament to our members’ dedication,” said President Elect Rose Mary Nnamuleme at the awards ceremony. “Our success is built on strong partnerships with Nation Media Group, local schools, NGOs, and government agencies—and the belief that every Rotaractor can be a catalyst for positive change.”

Past presidents and charter members joined the celebration, reflecting on milestones like their first literacy outreach in 2019 and the expansion to over 40 active members today. District Rotaract Representative Joseph Ssengooba, himself a past president, commended the club’s leadership pipeline, noting that “many of Bwebajja’s alumni serve at the district level, ensuring our impact resonates far beyond our local community.”

The award comes with a grant to fund next year’s flagship projects, including a planned green-energy workshop series and a regional mentorship summit. As Bwebajja looks forward, the Club of the Year title serves both as recognition of past achievements and as inspiration for even greater service in the future.
